Tumbled Stones and Crystal Healing

Tumbled stones are small pieces of rocks and minerals (usually with a diameter ranging from 1cm to 5cm) that have been processed in a rock tumbler to produce smooth, rounded and highly polished stones.  Not all stones can be placed in a rock tumbler and produce the same results.  The rocks and minerals used to make tumbled stones are called “tumbling rough” and are specifically selected for their color, translucence, appearance, and ability to accept a high polish.

Tumbled stones are used to make jewelry, for use in craft projects and other decorative items, and in the practice of crystal healing.  Crystal healing is an alternative therapy that can be incorporated into daily life very easily.  Tumbled stones can be used in the same way larger crystals are used, but because they are smaller, they can be carried around in a person’s daily activities in a pocket or bag.  Tumbled stones can also be made into jewelry, which is ideal for people who wish to wear their crystals throughout the day. Tumbled stones are a great first stone to try when beginning your journey with crystals. Don’t focus on the details about the stone; rather, let the stones choose you.
